KIRSTENBOSCH & LOOKOUT DECK
12TH DECEMBER 2010 |
|
Twenty people visited the Kirstenbosch
market on a blistering Sunday. Linda
and Carol, well kitted out with hats
compared their shopping purchases. |
|
|
'No, you go in first!'
Ronnie says to Mel, although she seems very
keen to give him a
'hello' kiss.
Brian wanted to buy some of
these biltong flavored biscuits, until he
discovered they were for dogs! |
|
|
The market caters for children and the
joy at 'blowing' your own airplane to
kick start it, or riding your very own
horse becomes a reality! |
|
|
Ronnie charming the ladies (again). When
Marie saw this, she thought she might be getting
a new art work, but the lady was just telling
Ronnie her whole life history. Carol
discovered a new 'craze' - a scarf filled with
little beads that expand when immersed in water
and give an amazing cooling effect to your neck.
Perfect for a hot day........ (can also be put
in the microwave for heating!). |
|
|
"DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS" - Marie and Jenny seem
to be saying "Let us out" - however they are
just waiting in the cool of a big old tree for
the coach to arrive. |
|
|
The Look Out Deck
in Hout Bay was our lunch venue. The
position of this restaurant being so close to
the water, with amazing views, had everyone
gasping "Wow aren't we lucky to live in Cape
Town" |
|
A number of small tables were stacked together,
creating "one long table" which always favors
everyone getting on very well. It is wonderful
to have such fabulous friends to share lunch
with. |
|
|
"This piece of fish is HUGE" said Rose whilst
Caroline seemed to be waiting in hope of getting
something to eat! Look at her anxious
hands.........almost willing the waiter to bring
her plate. |
|
|
Ronnie and Jenny believe they are related, and
are soon to be investigating their family tree -
meanwhile they are comparing knees, and believe
there is definitely a likeness, if this is
anything to go by. We sadly took our leave
of Hout Bay in the late afternoon, after a very
exhilarating day out. With Christmas a few
days away, everyone feels very relaxed, ready to
face the onslaught of Christmas parties, food
overload and then to hit the shops again for the
post Christmas sales.. |
