Our tour to Grahamstown
is now a reality. Our
recce in July 2011 has
borne fruit as we now
have accommodation
booked and as at 20th
February 2012 we have 13 travelers booked to go
on this exciting
escapade. Following are
our current plans. |
|
|
The above photos depict the
High
Corner Guest House in
the centre of Grahamstown where
we have reserved 2 cottages. |
We explored travel options of
road and air and to date all
bookings are for road transport.
This doesn't exclude air travel
for additional passengers, as we
can arrange flights to Port
Elizabeth and meet you there for
onward transport by road to
Grahamstown which is 132km from
the airport. Tour dates for "air
passengers" are: 29th June- to
4th July. Ask for full details. |
|
We depart Cape Town on
Thursday 28th June
and travel in a Hylton Ross
coach to Knysna where we will
overnight at
The
Knysna Log-Inn, a
beautiful
boutique hotel,
situated in the heart of Knysna.
It is ideally located to allow
its guests to enjoy the
Waterfront. |
|
Accommodation has been reserved
in 4-star self catering cottages
& apartments. Breakfast and
dinner will be arranged at local
restaurants and is included in
the package price. |
|
|
We are planning to visit
a different restaurant
each night, so be
prepared to make the
most of your tour |
|
|
|
|
There are just too many
performances to attend
in the available time,
so we need to pre-plan
our show preferences and
pre-book well
beforehand. The Program
is normally released
early in the New Year; I
will ensure that each
participant gets a copy
to study before we
arrange a local dinner
to allow us all to meet
fellow travelers and confirm
our particular
preferences. This is now
a reality, with
programmes in hand and
performances booked..

There will be time to
browse the craft markets
which are open everyday
during the festival |
|
|
Join in the festivities or
simply relax and enjoy the
activities, street theatre, art
exhibitions, fringe
performances, music and dance
that makes up the festival in
Grahamstown. |

|
We
depart Grahamstown on 4th July,
with passengers returning by air
being taken to the airport in
Port Elizabeth and the remainder
travelling by road with an
overnight stop in Plettenberg
Bay at the Whalesong Lodge.
Hylton Ross transport will
return us to our homes by mid
afternoon on 5th July. |
There remains a fair amount of
work to be done before we can
issue a final itinerary, so we
will continue to update this
site as we progress towards the
28th June 2012. In the meantime have a look at the
official festival site
