TIMEOUT - Previous Outings
Thursday 24th November 2011
Bishopscourt Garden
& Lookout Deck (Hout Bay)
The garden we visited in
Bishopscourt is an
amazing one. It is
so very well looked
after - such wonderful
views - we all
appreciated some
'chilling out' in the
garden over a cup of
tea.
The home in Bishopscourt
has a very imposing
entrance. The
ladies all gathered on
the lawn waiting for
Sharland to come and
tell us how she started
the planning of this
fabulous garden.
The poolhouse on the
property with relaxing
couches coupled with
light classical music
put everyone in the mood
to relax.
Every inch of this
garden has something
that takes your breath
away. Of course,
the background of the
mountains adds a very
special touch to the
ambience as well.
Sharland is such a
lovely lady and she made
us all feel so very
welcome at her home!
She showed us her albums
of photographs and those
of her new property in
Rhodes near the Lesotho
border.
Sharland provided
refreshments (tea,
coffee, juice, cake and
biscuits) and this was
graciously served on the
patio. The gardener
joined us to accept a
cash gift from us for
his outstanding work on
the property.
This is the view one
gets from the pool area.
What a treat to sit and
read a book and have
this view - absolutely
awesome!
After the garden we
headed to the
Look Out Deck
in Hout Bay - always a
favorite with everyone.
They have incredible
views over the harbor -
their service is slick
and outstanding - in
fact, what a lovely
place to celebrate our
final Time Out outing
for 2011!
The ladies were all
given small hats to add
to the atmosphere - here
Cynthia, Jenny, Mel and
Theresa all are very
happy to show theirs
off.
Lizann was delighted to
have lunch away from her
busy office and share
this with mom, Maxi.
Ingrid and Barbi were
also excitedly talking
about the tour they were
going on the next day -
The Cape Country Meander
The deck proved a bit
too cool for everyone so
we moved inside and
found the main dining
room more comfortable.
On our way home we "HAD
TO" do some shopping -
after all what is a lady
without a gift for
someone! The
T-Bag Design
shop in Hout Bay proved
a welcome stop - after a
short DVD presentation
the ladies were more
than happy to support
this very worthwhile
project. Caroline seems
to have her foot caught
in this wooden fish's
mouth; or is she getting
her toe nails done?
No-one will believe it
if you told them the
angel was made initially
from a few tea bags!
And as for the new
Marine collection - must
say it's no wonder they
are a best seller! (all
tea bags!)
A woman is like a tea
bag.
You only know how strong
she is when she is put
in hot water Eleanor Roosevelt.
