Day 5: Thursday 18th July. |
|
Some last minute shopping? "Brian
P.L.E.A.S.E. we have to STOP at the Ugly
Duckling! What a treat for the
gatherers amongst us. |
|
Cleopatras
is in a perfect position in the Kamberg
area. What a perfectly restful place
this is. It is owned and run by ex Granny
Mouse owners. |
|
This panoramic shot of our group shows us
all listening intently to what was on the
extensive menu for lunch (Toby is missing -
she is the photographer). Also our guests
Richard and Jacqui elected not to be part of
the photo. |
|
It was the perfect way to spend an
afternoon. We had the dining room to
ourselves. The food just kept on
coming - so much so that a few ladies
actually took 'doggy bags' of the divine
fillet steak home with them! |
|
Our
cheesecake dessert was delicious and
pronounced light and not too sweet
- "Just what we needed
to finish the meal" |
|
A view of the
restaurant from the northern side of the
dam. |
Day 6: Friday 19th July: Homeward Bound |
|
After packing the coach with all our luggage
we stopped at the
Nelson Mandela Capture Site.
A very impressive sculpture of steel has
been built on the site where Mandela was
captured and ultimately sent to Robben
Island. |
|
From this angle you cannot
see Mandela's face - but when you stand at a
designated spot his face miraculously comes
appears. |
|
|
Final
leg of our tour. Waiting to board
our return flight to Cape Town.
What a pity it has to end but as the
old adage goes "All good things come
to those who wait" - The Natal tour
was a very special time filled with
many happy memories. |
|
We wander
for distraction, but we travel for
fulfillment |
