Day 3: Saturday 30th June. Continue
the Festival with gusto. |
|
Up early and Carol's task every day was to
sit and work out a schedule with everyone to enable Johan, our coach drive, to
have a good idea of where he had to be - and
at what time! (aside from the normal
performance drop-offs and collections). |
|
The queue for performance tickets at the Box
Office in the Settlers Monument.! Great
that we were able to pre-book all our shows.
Giselle the Ballet
was our second performance
and WOW what a treat - such incredible
dancers! Very moving. |
|
"If only life could be like this ALL the
time" seemed to be on our faces -
"I
Love You When You're Breathing"
- also a
good show although we all felt we would have
liked to have more of the puppet
performances instead of the question/answer
session for 1/2 hour! |
|
Gino's really performed well - we had
pre-ordered our dinner as we only had an
hour between shows and they coped admirably.
Huge plates of food - all piping hot - all
served together! Other restaurants in Grahamstown can take a leaf out of their
book! Our final show for the day, The
Centrestage Extravaganza
had
us all bopping, dancing and clapping until
nearly midnight! |
|
|
Day 4: Sunday 1st July: |
|
Breakfast at Revelations
at 9h00 - easier time for a Sunday - Our
next performance was
Big Boys Don't
Dance at the Highlander at
12h00. A few of us went
marketing at the Village Green Fair - but
being a Sunday it was extremely busy and it
was so difficult to find anything to eat - L.O.N.G
lines made this frustrating. |
|
Three gorgeous ladies sitting in the sun
before our performance of Big Boys Don't
Dance - four of them booked extra tickets
and stayed for the sequel to the show at
2.00 pm. So happy when we read the
SOLD OUT sign for the show that we had
pre-booked. |
|
These two guys are so intent on their
performance, which was outstanding. Brenda,
Heather and Carol prove they have tickets
for the sold out show. |
|
Good advertising for Traveltime - and
amazing how bright and colourful all the
branded cushions looked. Here the
ladies all in a line outside the ladies
toilet - anything new??! Some even used the
men's toilet. |
|
The next show was
London Road also an
exceptional performance that has been on Festival
for years, and always playing to packed audiences
- now we could see why! |
|
|
Cafe D'Vine was our next dinner stop - a
delicious dinner with a few hitches of fish
being over-cooked but the owner accepted
this graciously! Their desserts are
to-die-for! |
|
|
|
Every night wonderful chatter around the
dinner table and here Ann who has an
appetite of a mouse really enjoyed her
chocolate mousse. |
