No Coach Days

The World Cup Soccer has come to Cape Town with many visitors.  As a result the Time Out Ladies Club could not get our regular monthly coach.  However, this did not stop us from getting 'out-and-about' by organising two "self drive" lunches (North & South) a week apart. The above photo was taken on 24th June at Eden on the Bay, Bloubergstrand, when unseasonably warm weather had us all taking a short stroll after lunch.

The 17th June venue was Jonkershuis Restaurant on the Groot Constantia Estate.  We all started off with a superb wine tasting organised by Trixie. Juno, Molly and Jenny were ever so happy to pose 'glass-in-hand'.  Margaret warmed herself at the welcoming fireplace before trying some wine.  "Got to get these hands warm first" she said.

Susan and Carol had time to catch up, whilst Juno and Cheryl found they had much in common as the lunch progressed.

"Some of us need WATER as well" said Molly with bottle held up high for one of the staff to take notice of her. Ingrid HAD TO bring her vuvuzela along which she duly demonstrated for us as we left the restaurant. (Click on the above video to share this with us).
On 24th June we headed for Eden on the Bay with its awesome view of Table Mountain.

Izabellas was our chosen restaurant - and what an excellent choice this proved to be.  Rose introduced Erika to Veronica (a first time visitor), whilst Jenny greeted Cynthia. Sandy at left made sure her name was on the list for the upcoming Soetes en Sop coach trip to the Breedekloof.

Yvonne, happy to be 'back in the fold' greets Heather.  Ann meanwhile "takes a leek" - leeks which had been used as a table arrangement, deciding that soup was on the cards for dinner.

Izabella's Restaurant came up trumps with their chicken pot pie and their orange dessert - no-one minded having a 3 course lunch especially in that their glass of white/red was included in the fabulous lunch. The other main course option seen to the top left and right of the pie, was Oxtail (to die for!). Believe me, this is a "must return to" venue.

Soccer days don't phase us,
nor whatever is thrown our way,
Time-Out will always make a plan
to ensure friendship & fun prevails.
