Day 1: Tuesday 16th October. Destination Thesen Islands, Knysna

We started our early morning pick-ups in Camps Bay, Tokai and Tableview before heading out on the N2 over Sir Lowry's Pass to Peregrine Farm Stall in the Elgin Valley, for our first comfort break.

There was an air of excitement with everyone in a jovial mood, anticipating what was to come.

Swellendam is half way to Knysna and we chose Rolandale Farm Stall for our stop for a light lunch.

Sandra, a nurse, accompanied Linda, who recently was hospitalised with pneumonia. During the second half of our trip we encountered a head wind which slowed our progress and we eventually arrived on Thesen Islands at 6pm *8 hour trip!). Yes, we're happy to finally be in Knysna!

The two homes we chose in Canvas Lane, Hammock Island, were in close proximity. We are shown our allocated rooms and were soon unpacking our belongings and exploring the new surroundings.

The stillness of the water amplifies the reflections and we pause to breathe in the beauty in front of us.

Our first dinner in Knysna was at Caffe Mario at the Waterfront. The light rain did not dampen the high spirits. As usual, Mario's provided excellent meals.
