Orchids & Wine

Our trip to Agter Paarl held out ‘weather wise’ until the end of the day – we seemed to just skirt the rain until we were safely having lunch when the heavens opened.

First stop was the Exotic Plant Company where Michael Tibbs (an international orchid judge) and Simon Field live and work at, what they love best.

This is an orchid breeding farm and nursery on a historic wine farm. Michael exports 100,000 orchid plants a year to Japan, Holland, Australia and America.

A treat on a cold day to see this beauty!
Lunch was at Backsberg Wine Estate – a typical South African meal with chicken pie, bobotie and vegetables & a decadent chocolate pudding to follow

Friendship is one of the treasures of the Time Out Ladies Club!
Our “babies” were well secured for us on the coach Coming home!
