DELVERA VILLAGE
Stellenbosch-Paarl area

28th January '10

You need a day to enjoy the full DelVera experience, and it’s a place offering a little something for everyone in the Stellenbosch winelands.

The first trip of a New Year is always eagerly anticipated. Delvera was the perfect place to spend some time together. On arrival some of the ladies went to Mamma Joan @ The Little Woolshop for coffee/scones.  Good to have time to sit and relax with a good friend - Cheryl and Colleen 'catch up'. After coffee, the ladies went shopping at the intriguing Hands On shop.  "Here we go again" - "Carol why do you always make us spend so much on these trips"?

The colors on this are so ME - I just love it! - Theresa says.  Marie just HAD to have another bracelet - (she said Heather MADE her buy it). DelVera is an ideal place to spend time in the country.  The property is leased by many small businesses. There is a wine tasting business - The Vineyard Connection; Chrisna's Olives where you can watch olives being prepared; Delilah a fashion boutique with lovely outfits; Johan Swart Ceramics where you can stand and watch the master at work; There is even a nursery which specializes in indigenous plants. (The Klapmuts Conservation Nursery)

Magdaleen and Joan relax in the wonderful shade at Delvera.  "Hey look up there Ann" says Hilda!  The gardens are very lush and this was appreciated when the day time temperature was in the early 30's!  As you stepped out of the dense shade, you could immediately feel the intense heat!

The picnic baskets were hand delivered to us at 12h30- a basket to share among four ladies!  They were so full of food that everyone took items home! Quiches, Chicken and rocket salad; potato salad to feed an army; snoek pate; cold meats, cheeses; Crackers; Freshly baked Ciabatta; Fresh fruit salad; and Divine chocolate brownies.  "Wow we ate so much and we still have doggy bags to take home with us as well" says Heather. Time Out is a good way to catch up and chat - and what better time to do this than over lunch.

Di, Margot, Gill and Trixie were keen to be photographed - "Hey girls life is good".  Trish is always ready to smile.  The Time Out days make for happy times with friends, sharing a good laugh and wonderful companionship.
