THURSDAY 27TH JUNE'13
|
Experience DEVON VALLEY |
|
The Devon Valley has
changed character. From being a placid
& unassuming area, with its road lined
by farms with unobtrusive entrances,
this sub-route of the Stellenbosch Wine
Route
has become assertive, with new venues
adding glitzy diversity.
We start the morning off at the
Rupert Museum in Stellenbosch.
I have heard this is one of the better
art museums in the Western Cape.
Officially opened in Feb
2005 the Museum houses over 350 works,
and is regarded as the premier
collection of contemporary SA art from
the period 1940—1970.
There are paintings; sculptures and
tapestries.
After this we head to the Devon Valley.
How about starting off the morning with
nougat / meringues and a glass of
bubbly? YES, we can do this at La
Fleurette at the House of JC Le Roux.
