EARTH HOUR - 2013
22nd -24th March 13

Day 1: Friday 22nd March -  Destination Stanford

We left the city mid morning and our lunch stop was the Burgundy Restaurant in Hermanus.  They will not book a table but everyone decided the wait was worthwhile - what delicious food we enjoyed; coupled with a view to die for!

Mel had found a new acquisition - A Harrods shopping bag at a little gift shop in Pringle Bay. Good move Barbi - with you sitting on the chair they could not forget we needed a table for lunch.

What a happy bunch of people - all away for the weekend and what a great, happy one it was too!

Before checking into our accommodation we did some beer tasting - Barbi definitely didn't like the taste of one of the beers as is evident on her face.

The tastes of the 5 beers ranged from a light Honey beer with lemon, to the dark, bitter ales - at the end of our tasting we all said - "Now we know why ladies prefer wine!!"

The Blue Gum Country Estate is where we checked in at about 4.00 pm.  A quick unpack and refresh in our well appointed rooms had us all feeling we were ready to take-on-the-weekend!

The Blue Gum Country Estate has 3 well appointed lounges - extremely comfortable. A well appointed bar is also available.

Dinner tonight was in house at Blue Gum Country Estate. A delicious dinner with much happiness around the table.

Our table seemed to be the noisiest in the restaurant but as they say "Life is for enjoyment" and the people who came on the Earth Hour tour made sure they enjoyed themselves.
