Our previous tour to Natal was in April
2010. This time we have chosen July.
The hot, humid KwaZulu-Natal coast, as
well as the Lowveld (lower-lying areas)
of Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces,
offer fantastic winter weather with
sunny, warmish days and virtually no
wind or rain.
Durban boasts an average of 320 days of
sunshine a year. Temperatures range from
16 to 25º C in winter. The warm
Mozambique current flowing along the
coast means wonderfully warm bathing
throughout the year, the water seldom
falling below 17º C even in the middle
of winter. With these conditions, it’s
no accident that
Durban
is considered the “holiday city” of
KwaZulu Natal.
Our base will, once again, be the
Granny Mouse
Hotel, which is well
positioned in the Midlands Meander area.
Old-world charm, embedded in the
foundations of the hotel, complements
the rural ambiance and modern comforts
of the rooms and venues. This elegant
hotel with two restaurants and spa is
situated in the picturesque KwaZulu
Natal Midlands at the foothills of the
uKhahlamba-Drakensberg, one of South
Africa’s world heritage sites. |
