TOUR REPORT

The 8th of December was the chosen date for our Mystery Venue tour– just before everyone gets going with full Christmas preparations and holidays.

Tableview passengers were the first to be picked up followed by Constantia.  We took the Muizenberg beach road – always a favorite of many……..it is just scenic and beats traveling on the busy highways!

Our first stop was the ROOT 44 market which is very festive just before Christmas. A perfect place to stock up on last minute Christmas gifts.  It was extremely hot in Stellenbosch and the popular drink seemed to be ice slush – so refreshing!!
We then headed over Hellshoogte pass to Franschhoek and our Mystery Venue which happened to be Café Bon Bon just east of the town.  This is in a perfect setting with majestic mountains surrounding the venue.
Lunch was a choice of either Pork Belly, Trout from the valley, Chicken Curry, or the Chef’s Pot pie of the day followed by desserts – the Lemon Meringue Pie took everyone’s breath away!  What a huge slice, but I must say I didn’t see too much going back to the kitchen!

A lucky ticket draw had 14 people going home with an additional gift.  Christmas crackers completed the day and added to the atmosphere.

When it was time to go back to Cape Town many felt that they had not had enough of the day out – certainly a compliment to those who organized the day
Merry Christmas and every good wish to all for 2014
