Day 3: Thursday 18th October. Destination The Crags, Plettenbergbay

The newly completed Turbine Hotel on Thesen Islands is an ambitious project which transformed the old power station into a unique 5 star boutique hotel on the Garden Route with a massive wow factor. All the old machinery which was used in this power station has been lovingly restored and forms an integral part of the hotels aesthetics.

We had an excellent breakfast at the Turbine Hotel; Linda added oysters and a bloody Mary to hers.

Time flies when you are having fun! We headed for Plettenbergbay after breakfast and stopped in at Bramon wines. We had heard about their unique restaurant but had never been there. It was well worth the visit and a must for lunch when visiting the Crags. (It was a bit too early for us). Tables are positioned in the vineyard. Enjoy an afternoon of local wines, cheeses, oysters, meats, pates and more all served with freshly baked homemade breads and polished off with a decadent dessert.

We stopped at the Mill Mohair & Decor Centre for a bit of browsing before heading to Enricos restaurant on Keurbooms beach, for lunch.

On our way back through Plettenbergbay we stopped at Robberg beach for a group photo.

Dinner tonight was at the Simola Hotel. We had arranged set menu for our group and this proved to be very well presented and appetizing. As with our visit in 2009 we had heavy rain on arrival and departure.
