We’re off for a full day in the oldest game reserve in Africa – the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park. Established in 1895, the magnificent game rich park is famous for its successful protection of the white rhino which was on the verge of extinction! Dedicated game rangers and conservationists have worked hard to create an environment suitable to sustain a wide variety of animals in addition to the Big Five, and the park today is one of the finest in South Africa, and also home to wild dog, hyena, cheetah and other general game species.

A full day gives us the opportunity to progress further into the Park increasing our chances of greater animal sightings. We have the best view points from the tiered seats of the open game drive vehicle where we will have wonderful photographic opportunities. The terrain is lush and the whole area has incredible scenery and is steeped in rich cultural history.

The Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park is also home to magnificent birdlife and our guide will tell us interesting facts and enlighten us about these beautiful creatures.
