Day 1: Sunday 18th November. Destination McGregor

We chose Sunday to exit the city to take advantage of the lower week end traffic volume.

Our vehicle for the next 4 days, a 21-seater from Thompson's, part of Hylton Ross. The fun has already started in the airport holding bay! (Ingrid's hairpiece).

We were soon on our way and encountered road construction on the way (stop & go system), where an enterprising salesman presented his wares. Two feather-dusters were purchased. Our lunch stop was at Montagne deli in Ashton, where Karla was on hand to look after us.

Karla arranged a cheese tasting for us to help in the selection of our lunch. Most selected the cheese / meat platters.

It was then on to McGregor where accommodation had been arranged at Green Gables Country Inn, Old Village Lodge and Ruby's Cottage.

The dinner table was set on the patio at Green Gables and we met in the bar for a pre-dinner drink.

Not often we have a roast (chicken & pork) for Sunday dinner, so this went down well! The miggies were biting and many of us were tired after the early start to the day, so it was early (9pm) to bed.
