DRAKENSBERG WORLD HERITAGE TOUR
-FULL DAY |
|
Amazing rock formations, steep ravines,
cascading waterfalls and tall peaks
which seem to end in the clouds will
leave you in awe of the majestic
Drakensberg Mountain range, the highest
mountain range in Southern Africa.
The ‘Dragon Mountain’ is the original
home of the San Bushman tribe, and many
of their paintings have been found in
the caves and overhanging cliffs around
the World Heritage Site of Giant’s
Castle. A leisurely 3 km hike with our
guide through this magnificent area
brings us to the site of the paintings
which are believed to be over 2000 years
old. You’ll enjoy relaxing over a hearty
lunch after an energetic walk!
We return via the Midlands Meander Route
where artists and crafters of a wide
variety of products are at work. An
incredible array of pottery, cheeses,
leather goods, herbs, home brewed beer,
woven goods and artistic wood carvings
is displayed. Nothing like a bit of
retail therapy to end a lovely day! |
