The wine lands of the Cape are world
renowned, not only for outstanding
wines, but also for spectacular scenery.
The beautiful Anura Wine Estate is our
first stop, and here we’ll enjoy a
cellar tour, cheese and wine tasting.
Learn all about what makes these wines
world class!
We have a chance to stretch our legs at
Groot Drakenstein Prison, where Nelson
Mandela was released in 1990, before
arriving in Franschhoek for our second
wine tasting. The village is home to
some magnificent wine estates and due to
its picturesque beauty it is often
compared to Switzerland. You will have
time to walk through the village and
soak up the atmosphere of rural
sophistication before enjoying lunch
(optional - own account) at one of the
many outstanding eateries. Food
connoisseurs will be excited by the many
award-winning restaurants Franschhoek
has to offer.
After lunch we head over the scenic
Hellshoogte Mountain Pass to
Stellenbosch for more amazing scenery.
The slopes of the Hottentots Holland
Mountains which surround the town are
covered with vineyards. You’ll be
delighted by the old oak tree lined
streets with charming white Cape Dutch
gabled buildings. If time permits our
guide will treat us to a third wine
tasting before returning to your hotel
in Cape Town. |
