Susan decided to ride on
the back of an elephant - "An
awesome experience" she said.
Carol enjoyed the walk back with the
elephants to their shelter. "To
walk with these gentle giants is
something I will not easily forget".
From left to right: Getting ready
to ride / The end is in sight / That was
great, but I am sore! A slide
show is being prepared and will be
published shortly.

On Thursday evening a group of us headed
to the Waterfront and enjoyed a
sumptuous dinner at 34 degrees South.
What delicious food they serve.
Brenda declared the wild oysters
far better than the cultivated ones.
Marie, Ronnie and Heather did the night
dinner cruise on the Paddle Cruise boat.
What a wealth of choices Knysna offers
the traveler. |

A small group of the ladies chose to do
a braai at their home. Here they are
posing at the foot of the staircase!
Towards the end of the evening there was a
visitor who came looking for work!
Barbi was horrified to see who it actually
was. |

Early Friday morning a
large group of us set off to
Monkeyland outside Plettenberg
Bay. We elected to go on a guided
tour - the highlight of this being the
180m swing bridge over a small valley!
Left more than a few of us with wonky
legs. Another experience at
Monkeyland was how very quickly
the monkeys can snatch your food - right
out of your hands! Barbi can attest to
this. |

It was a delight to see this
with its
baby! After our snack
we headed into Birds of Eden,
and looks like Barbi wasn't too
comfortable with the passenger on her
shoulder. Elaine, on
the other hand, 'wanted' a bird to land
on her shoulder and wasted no time in
allowing him to give her a quick kiss! |

On Friday afternoon we headed to a
favorite amongst locals - the
Knysna Night Market on the
Montessori School grounds.
What lovely atmosphere. Delicious
food with anything from Thai, South
African, Chinese, Kilzers was there as
well and proved to be a hit with most of
the ladies. Jenny and Brenda
discovered the 'childrens stand' just as
it was time to leave. Flashing
glasses, wands, flying saucers -
"Which should we take home?" they asked. |

It was a delight to meet JP's
other half - the very attractive
Wilma who was introduced
to us all amidst much banter!
Centre is a plate of crumbed asparagus,
homemade potato salad (without
mayonnaise) and fresh vegetables.
Such super atmosphere to catch up with
friends. As the sun goes down they
light huge bonfires which give the
market added atmosphere. |
