PEACHES AND CREAM @ THE PONTAC MANOR HOTEL

April and the weather today started off with a light drizzle and somewhat cooler weather! However, this did not dampen the spirits of 24 people who eagerly boarded the coach from the Constantia area & Tableview.
First stop was GERBER & CO on the R45 where their coffee machine could not maintain all the orders! Some purchases were made – albeit only books, cakes etc. We were soon all back on the coach heading to the SIMONDIUM GUILD BUSINESS PARK where STILLMAN DISTILLERY (make divine Gin) & FANGLASSTIC (fantastic glass product only opening to the public on Saturday 1st May – so we had a ‘sneak preview’. Ronel was charming and it was heartening to hear her story how she had started in the garage of her home with a passion for making glass products. Their newly installed glass factory with all the equipment is raring to go – the products make fabulous gifts and is a must-go-to when on the R45 to Paarl.
After our visit to FANGLASSTIC and STILLMAN DISTILLERY many ladies got armed with purchases to head to our lunch venue – PEACHES AND CREAM @ THE PONTAC MANOR HOTEL. Because of the inclement weather they seated us in the Pontac Manor Hotel dining room – a lovely room from a bygone era!
Anika always has rave reviews on Trip Advisor and her team is well known for the quality of food that comes out of the kitchen.
Our Menu comprised:
Main:
* Chicken breasts with spinach and feta filling, wrapped in bacon – Served with roast veggies & a bit of mash
* OR Bobotie – Yellow rice, tomato sambal and pumpkin fritters
* OR Smoked Salmon Salad—Smoked Salmon Trout, Cucumbers, Red Onions; Feta, Avo,
Capers, Green Olives and Fresh lemon dressing.
OR (Vegetarian):
* Quiche served with potato salad & a green salad OR vegetarian pancake (Spinach, Mozarella & Feta) & a small side salad served with roast veg
or pumpkin fritters
Dessert:
* Slice of cake of the day
* OR Pancakes with ice cream and berry coulis
* Filter coffee to be served with dessert!
