ELGIN OPEN
GARDENS
Saturday 10th November '12 |
|
The
Elgin Open Gardens
gets better each year! Here Sally and
Dawn are seen taking a photograph of the
enormous rose bloom in the
TALL TREES
garden. "Wow what compost do they
use?" |
|
|
Our first stop
was FRESHWOODS
where, as always the standard is extremely high.
Tea and cream scones was an absolute must on
arrival. |
|
The rare plants in this beautiful garden are
unbelievable. To hear visitors quoting the
botanical names of the flowers makes you realize
what an exotic garden it is! (and how little we
actually know). |
|
|
Our lunch stop was at
HIGHLANDS ROAD ESTATE - lovely willow
trees kept us all cool. A glass or two of
their sauvignon blanc was also ever so good, and
added to the happy ambience at the table. |
|
The choice for lunch was limited to pizzas and
salads to make it easier on the restaurant and
the ladies quickly decided what to eat.
The Thai Chicken salad was popular as was the
vegetarian pizza; pity they ran out of
mozzarella cheese..............bad planning!
(Or too many mouths to feed?) |
|
|
Two beautiful
ladies in the awesome garden AULDEARN where
the views are spectacular. The garden is on different levels and an
absolute delight to see. |
|
Tea and Rosemary biscuits completed our day out
in the country. We all returned to the
city with happy souls and grateful hearts for
what we had seen on this summers day. |
Remember that children, marriages, and
flower gardens
reflect the kind of care they get.
